Second week of lessons in Quito

There isn´t much to report from this week because Monday, Wed, Thurs and Friday I had 7 hours of lessons in the spanish school and we didn´t go out and about. I learn a lot more that way because Silvana, my teacher in the afternoons, helps me practice all my verbs but it´s not as interesting. This week I learnt past tense though which is useful!

On Tuesday Silvana and I went to the Basillica in the old town. It´s a really beautiful, huge cathedral and you can climb to the top of the towers which is a tad dangerous. They have metal ladders which you climb up over steep drops! It´s cool to get up that high though and see over the city. Here´s some pics:

I´m still living in the home stay and this week a new girl called Fiona came to stay as well. She´s an ozzy just doing a week´s spanish to get some confidence. On Thursday night we went to the South America Explorers Club House for all you can drink in four hours for $5. We met a nice bunch of people including an hysterical Irish girl and we played drinking games all night. Played the vegetable game which a Canadian guy suggested. I love how everyone knows the same drinking games! It was a really fun night but today was not so fun - hungover and tired and 7 hours of 1-1 spanish....urg!
