Oz - Top to Bottom and back again

After the Whitsundays trip we all met up in a bar and danced the night away with our fellow sailors:

The next morning we were up at 6am to catch the Greyhound all day to Cairns. It wasn't fun and we were knackered by the time we arrived. In the morning we wandered around Cairns, which is nice, and sunbathed at the lagoon with our roommate, Zac. The next day we did much the same and in the evening we flew to Darwin.

Darwin was quite similar Cairns except hotter and with more interesting history and hertiage. The first day we did the Heritage walk around the city which was good apart from it was over 30deg.
In the evening, after sunbathing around the pool all afternoon, we went to a night market and then watched the sunset on the beach with about 1000 other people!

After that we went out to a bar for a free dinner and proceeded to get free drinks for the majority of the night, one way or another, and ended up staying out much later than anticipated!
The next day we just bummed around all day, sunbathing mainly. We were waiting for our flight in the evening, or rather early morning. In the afternoon we went online and I happened to check the flight details - we have a bad habit of just turning up at the airport and not even knowing who we are flying with let alone the flight number. Worryingly, our flight from Sydney to Darwin had disappeared. When we got to the airport we spent a good 40mins on the phone to Quantas trying to solve our dilemma and ended up with a new itinerary which I wasn't a fan of. We had to fly Darwin - Sydney at 1.30am arriving at 6.30am, change terminals and re check in at Sydney then fly to Melbourne where we had a 8hour wait for before flying to Dempesar, Bali where we didn't arrive until near on midnight - rubbish. Even worse was after getting to Sydney and queuing for ages we weren't allowed to check in because we didn't have an up to date itinerary. We went to the Quantas desk to get one only to discover our flight out of Bali had been cancelled as well. Finally we got sorted and got to Melbourne where I was very pleased to find a bench with no hand rests on where I slept for about 3 hours. We were very pleased to arrive in Bali, find a hotel and crash out!
