NZ - Wellington round 2

First thing we did when we got back to Wellington (after a painfully long drive) was go up Mt. Victoria and check out the view. It was a pretty stunning day.
Wellington harbour: That evening we cooked for Sue and crashed out on her sofas and watched t.v. and had an early night. Saturday was a very sluggish day. At nearly lunchtime we made it out of the house, after a fab breakfast courtesy of Nick (Sue's housemate), and went to Te Papa museum. It was cool but quite similar to the one in Auckland. We wandered back via Cuba St. to window shop and had coffee and cake (which we had cooked) back at Sue's.
We really didn't achieve much the rest of the day and watched some very strange films in the evening. On Sunday we were much more active. We got up at 8am and went to the market to stock up. From there Alexa and I went swimming and swam a kilometer. After a bite to eat we got the cable car up to the botanical gardens and walked back down to town.

In the afternoon, Sue joined us for a drive around the bays which was really pretty:

We then had a milkshake and cake in a cool surfer cafe!

That evening turned out to be a cooking extravaganza! Karen had bought a joint of pork, by mistake - she had meant to buy gammon, and a cabbage and was very upset becase she didn't think she liked pork. She insisted we all ate pork roast and proceeded to cook an amazing feast - my first roast since I left home. It ended up being about 8 of us eating and it was followed up by Sue's homemade blackboy crumble. Great evening!
All in all, we ate a lot in Wellington, relaxed a lot and generally felt like we'd spent some time at home. It was a really fun weekend, if you read this Sue and co. thank you very much!
